You don’t need previous wig experience to begin. The courses are designed to build wig confidence from the ground up, especially if you already understand hair, shape, balance, consultation, and client care. You’ll learn the wig-specific pieces step by step — how wigs fit differently than natural hair, what can and cannot be changed, how to approach cutting and styling without overworking the wig, how to talk clients through realistic expectations, and how to build services around this work.

That said, this is not a casual “watch one video and wing it” kind of training. Wig work asks you to slow down, observe carefully, and respect the fact that many clients are coming to you during a vulnerable season. The good news is, your hairstylist background gives you a strong foundation. This course helps you translate those skills into the wig world.

This is one of the most common questions I hear — and it has a real answer. The course itself is self-paced, so you can log in between clients, during a last-minute cancellation, or curled up on the sofa in the evening. Most students complete Essentials within a week and the Bootcamp within two months.

Manufacturer training is a great introduction to a specific brand — their collections, cap constructions, fibers, and terminology. And for what it is, it’s useful. But it’s tied to one product line, and it typically doesn’t cover consultation language, pricing, policies, business setup, or how to build a service around the work.
